PM Modi attends NITI Aayog’s “Economic Policy – The Road Ahead” meeting

New Delhi, Jan 11 (KNN) Eyeing at exploring the different dimensions of the country’s economy, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, attended an interactive session with over 40 economists and other experts.

The meeting themed “Economic Policy - Road Ahead” was organised by NITI Aayog in the national capital. A release from the Prime Minister’s office informed about the meeting.

During the meeting the participating experts shared their views on various economic themes including macro-economy, agriculture and rural development, employment, health and education, manufacturing and exports, urban development, infrastructure and connectivity.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was also present during the meet. Also the meeting was attended by several Union Ministers who look after economic subjects.

The Vice Chairman NITI Aayog Rajiv Kumar, and senior officers from the Union Government and NITI Aayog were also present, the release informed.

Earlier last week, the Central Statistics Office (CSO) released the first advance estimate that indicated a low 6.5 per cent growth figure mainly due to slowed performance of manufacturing and agriculture.

Also the meeting is being seen crucial as the upcoming budget is to be presented from early February. (With PIB Inputs) (KNN/DA)
