PM Modi urges District Collectors to avail Govt e-Marketplace for all procurements in their districts

New Delhi, Aug 10 (KNN) Addressing the need to ensure transparency in the procurement process, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged the District collectors to use the government’s E-Market place to procure goods.
The DGS and D, Ministry of Commerce and Industries in a tweet informed about the discussion between the Prime Minister and the District collectors regarding procurement through the e market place.
Also earlier, Commerce and Industry Minister at several occasion empathised the significance of the online portal that aims to bring in transparency in public procurement process.
The Minister also said that the portal is a big step towards facilitating ease of doing business in the country. With GeM in place he seller or the traders don’t have to run from pillar to post to file tender, ask for payments. Everything is at ease now. Within 10 days of delivery of shipment to the government department, the payment is made to the seller. (KNN/ DA)
