National Institute of Design to hold 38th Convocation Ceremony

Ahmedabad, Jan 10 (KNN) The National Institute of Design (NID) will be holding its 38th Convocation, today at the institute’s campus in Ahmedabad.

Former President of India, Pranab Mukherjee is to be the chief guest at the event.

Over 327 students graduating in various disciplines are to be awarded their degrees at the convocation. The graduating batch this year includes students from different programs including Bachelor of Design, Master of Design course as well as  Post Graduate Diploma programme in design.

The National Institute of Design (NID) is one of the foremost multi-disciplinary institutions in the field of design education, applied research, training, design consultancy services and outreach programmes.

Internationally, it is acclaimed as one of the finest educational and research institutions for Industrial, Communication, Textile and IT Integrated (Experiential) Design.

The school operates under the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

NID is also recognised by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research under Ministry of Science and Technology as a scientific and industrial design research organisation. The organization was placed in the Business week’s 2010 list of top design schools in the world. (KNN/ DA)
