RBI to inject new 10 rupee note soon, old notes to remain valid

New Delhi, Jan 6 (KNN) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will start issuing new banknotes of 10 rupee denomination, a release from RBI informed.

The new notes will be in the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series, and will bear the signature of RBI Governor Dr Urjit R Patel, the state said.

Drawing upon the country’s cultural heritage, the new denomination notes will have motif of the Sun Temple and the Konark on the reverse side.

With regard to colour, the new note is to have shade of brown.

Also similar to other new notes, the bill is to have a Swachh Bharat logo along with the slogan.

All the banknotes in the denomination of Rs. 10 issued by the RBI in the earlier series will continue to be legal tender the statement further informed. (KNN/DA)
