Gujarat Govt to organize special match making sessions between foreign and Indian investors

Ahmedabad, May 21 (KNN) The Gujarat state government is planning to host two big events wherein small and big industrialists with the readied project proposals will be paired with big foreign investors.

In this direction, the Gujarat government has planned to organize special “match-making sessions” between the foreign investors and Indian businessmen during the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat summit 2019 to bring big foreign investments from country like Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia and Oman.

Rajkumar Beniwal, Managing Director of iNDEXTb (Industrial Extension Bureau), an arm of Gujarat government that conducts the biennial Vibrant Gujarat summit, said “apart from seminars, we will also be organizing special match-making sessions between investors with huge funds and industrialists who have readied project proposals.”

The ninth edition of the Summit has been rescheduled and will be held from January 18-20, 2019, according to a media report quoting an official.

Speaking at the MSME Conclave organized at the Ahmedabad Management Association (AMA) on Saturday, he mentioned that the two events one on Sovereign Wealth Funds and one on Private Equity firms as planned will be open forums, where industrialist will pitch their projects to the funds.

Further, he added that firms who have shown their interest in Gujarat were huge and were ready to invest any provided they find the right project.

Reportedly, investors from countries like Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and middle-east countries like Saudi Arabia and Oman have been inquiring about the possible projects to invest in Gujarat.

These countries are full of funds and viewing India as a biggest consumer market to invest in, said Beniwal.

Moreover, they are trying to set up their factories in India and searching for right partners, in addition to this, large number of queries has come regarding how they could invest in Gujarat and India, he added.

Flooded with funds, these foreign investors need Indian partners for investment but we have to showcase them our projects, he said.
