PM Modi on 3-day visit to Palestine, UAE and Oman, discussions to include business collaborations

New Delhi, Feb 9 (KNN) With the objective of strengthening India’s ties with West Asia and Gulf region, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a three-day visit Palestine, United Arab Emirates and Oman starting from 9-12 Feb.

It is the fifth visit of Prime Minister since 2015.

Informing of the upcoming visit, PM Modi in his pre-departure note said the region is a key priority in the country’s external engagement and India enjoys vibrant multi-dimensional ties with them.”

The visit will begin from Palestine on 10 Feb; this is the first ever Prime Ministerial visit to Palestine from India

“I am looking forward to my discussions with President Mahmoud Abbas and reaffirming our support for the Palestinian people and the development of Palestine”, he said in his pre-departure statement.

Following Palestine, PM Modi will visit UAE on 10-11 Feb and hold talks on topics including economy, energy and high techno and security with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.

Prime Minister received invitation from the UAE for the leadership of UAE and will deliver address speech on the sixth edition of the World Government Summit in Dubai, where India is the Guest Country of Honor.

Further he will discuss about the economic opportunities that lies in India and outside India and opportunities with joint collaboration of nations to boost business with leading UAE and Arab CEO’s.

To build stronger economic and business links his next visit extends to Oman from 11-12 Feb, where he will be meeting leading businesspersons of Oman.

More than 9 million Indian workers live in Oman and one third of them live in UAE, which constitutes as a bridge of friendship between India and the Gulf states and plays a important role in the prosperity and progress of the host countries. (With PIB Inputs) (KNN/YV)
