CM Mamata Banarjee invites Scottish businessmen to come and Make in Bengal

New Delhi, Nov 17 (KNN) In a bid to attract investments to the state, the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banarjee invited the Scottish businessmen and investors to visit the state and explore the potentials of investment in different sectors including engineering and I.T.

Highlighting the different possibilities of investment, Mamata said that the state government is ready with a comprehensive policy for investments with a favourable industrial policy as well as a dedicated policy for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the state.

The Chief Minister made the following remarks during a business conclave organized by the Scottish Development International along with the Asia Scotland institute and the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce.

The Minister said that the state has a fertile ecosystem for the businesses to flourish with right economic parameters in place making West Bengal investment friendly.

Mamata further said that there is huge possibility of collaboration in the different sectors including engineering, services to IT and ITeS, food processing, healthcare and tourism, industries from these sectors of the two countries may explore collaboration.

The Minister offered support from her end both in terms of policies as well as ready work force that the businessmen can utilise in order to start up their businesses in the state.

The Minister also invited the Scottish investors to the upcoming Bengal Global Business Summit (BCBS) that is to take place early 2018. (KNN/ DA)
