Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017 brings 1500 entrepreneurs - investors on board, Ivanka applauds India's effort

New Delhi, Dec 1 (KNN) Global Entrepreneurship Summit 2017 themed “Women first, Prosperity for all” concluded yesterday in Hyderabad. The eight edition of the summit was organized by NITI Aayog along with US government.

Prime Minister Modi and Ivanka Trump, Advisor to US President inaugurated the summit on 28 November.

The 3 day event witnessed participation of around 1500 entrepreneurs, investors, educators, government officials, and business representatives from all over the world.

The summit provided a global platform especially to women entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas, build partnerships, secure funding, and create innovative products and services that will transform societies for better tomorrow.

Speaking at the inaugural event on day 1 Ivanka Trump said that the People of India have inspired the whole World, mentioning Indian spaceships have successfully reached Moon and Mars.

She termed Prime Minister Modi as symbol of democracy and Hyderabad as the innovation hub of India.

She added that Indian economy has the potential to grow by $150 billion in the next three years it successfully reduce the labor-force gender gap by half.

Terming the women as shakti, PM Modi said that women empowerment is crucial  for growth and development. He added that numerous incubation centres have been created in various universities to nurture innovative startup ventures to become scalable and sustainable.

The Prime Minister invited global investors to explore the investment opportunities in the country.

Day 2 started with an interesting panel discussion titled, 'We can do it! Innovations in workforce development and skills training'.

The panelists on the discussion were Chanda Kochhar, MD and CEO, ICICI Bank, Cherie Blair and was moderated by Karen Quintos of Dell.

Miss World Manushi Chillar, Sania Mirza, Vikas Khanna and many Bollywood celebrities participated in discussions of women empowerment and interacted with the entrepreneurs. (With PIB inputs) (KNN/AG)
