Indee Bangladesh 2017 meet to kick off in Dhaka, cooperation among MSMEs of the two countries expected

New Delhi, Nov 1 (KNN) In an attempt to strengthen the trade relations between India and Bangladesh, especially the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), a two day exhibition is being organized in Dhaka on 2-4th of November.

The exhibition is being organized in collaboration with Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC), Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and Ministry of Commerce from India.

Industries from different sectors including auto parts, components, industrial supplies, medical devices etc are to be featured at the exhibition.

Also steel utensils, plastic products and machinery, industrial machinery, domestic appliances and light engineering will be at focus during the two day meet.

A dedicated section for IT and related services including software development, telecommunication will be at display.

India and Bangladesh share close cultural, economic and multidimensional relations.  Over the years, the countries have set up close bilateral cooperation backed with the highest level political exchanges to promote trade and commerce.

Over the last 5 years, India - Bangladesh bilateral trade has increased consistently from 4.3 billion US$ in year 2011-12 to 6.7 billion US$ in year 2015-16.  The 2 countries have set target to increase bilateral trade to US$ 10 billion by the year 2018 through ports.

The upcoming exhibition being the first one of its kind,  is being seen instrumental towards further strengthening the trade ties between the two countries, the organizers said in a release. (KNN/DA)
