CLCSS scheme for MSMEs to continue to be implemented: Ram Mohan Mishra, AS DC MSME

New Delhi, Jan 17 (KNN) The Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme (CLCSS) of the Government to encourage technology upgradation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) will continue to be implemented, Ram Mohan Mishra, Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner Ministry of MSME reiterated.

Talking to KNN along the sidelines of an interaction event with MSMEs in New Delhi, Mishra said that the scheme is still in continuation.

Responding to whether CLCSS has been dormant in the recent times, Mishra said that is not the case.

He however said that due to some level of financial crunch the scheme was not as smooth as it was expected to be, but with things getting tuned up, the MSME Ministry is to continue the scheme.

MSMEs from various states raised that despite the government assuring that the scheme is being implemented, the situation on ground stood different.

Earlier, talking to KNN, Amit Jain of Dayachand Engineering Industries informed that SIDBI, the implementing agency of the scheme had no update regarding the continuation of scheme.

Under the scheme eligible MSMEs are provided subsidy of up to Rs. 15 lakhs for procuring state of the art technology and also to improve energy efficiency and minimise environmental impacts.

Commenting over the need to have consultation framework, Mishra said that the ministry is aiming for more round table programs with industry associations from different sectors in order to have a multidimensional approach towards framing policies. (KNN/DA)
