CMIA conferred with State Level MEDA award for Energy Conservation and Management

New Delhi, July 25 (KNN) The Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA) was conferred State level award for excellence in energy conservation and management by the Maharashtra Energy Development Agency (MEDA) recently.

The MEDA award is conferred to the facilities and units that take extra efforts for efficient utilization and management of energy. Also efforts in conservation of energy and focus on alternative sources of energy are counted as a parameter for presenting the award.

CMIA had earlier presented a PowerPoint presentation at MEDA that outlined the activities that the association have initiated. These include establishing an Energy Cell in collaboration with industry and educational institutions that aims at conserving energy and moving away from conventional sources of energy.

Also CMIA’s solar rooftop project has received overwhelming response from the industry.

CMIA through its energy cell conducted energy audit of select industries and have been encouraging the MSME sector to opt for energy saving methods.

Gurpreet Singh Bagga, Immediate Past President of CMIA & Ashish Garde, Past President of CMIA, received the  award from Chandrashekar Bawankule, Minister for Energy, New and Renewable Energy, Govt.of Maharashtra

Key officials including  Rajaram Mane, Director General of MEDA and industry representatives were present at the occasion. (KNN/ DA)
