Quality Council wishes to certify 22,000 MSMEs in 2017

New Delhi, Jan 21 (KNN) The Quality Council of India (QCI) has shown its intent to accredit about 22,000 MSMEs this year under the 'ZED scheme'.

According to the Chairman of QCI, the process for the same will begin in the next two weeks.

He expressed the council’s intent while addressing at a FICCI event on 'Sustainable Industry Growth through Quality Systems' under the theme 'Quality Systems to Achieve Goal of Make in India'.

QCI stated that the ambitious ZED programme hopes to certify one million MSMEs in the next three years.

With a view to achieve this mark, he appealed the industries to acquire products and services only from certified merchants and mandate MSMEs to secure at least the bronze standards for their products and services, a statement said.

It has been emphasized that for the development of the sector, quality goods and services should be the demand of consumers.

The quality of the products and services in India is a matter of concern when compared with international market and this can be changed only by measuring quality and enforcing quality standards in all spheres of life, as said in the statement. (KNN)
