UP govt to roll out new start-up policy, MSME entrepreneurs hopeful of new framework

New Delhi, Jan 16 (KNN) With the Uttar Pradesh government is to roll out new startup policy during the upcoming investors summit, the aspiring Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) entrepreneurs are looking at the new framework with raised hopes.

Talking to KNN, Sunil Vaish, President of Indian Industries Association (IIA) said that the start-up policy that is scheduled to be rolled out soon is certainly a positive step towards enabling an ease of doing business environment in the state.

Vaish said that the different procedures for starting g a business in the state continues to remain tedious discouraging new businesses.

Under the new policy, the MSMEs are expecting the government to ease these procedures, Vaish added.

“New generation is to move from job seeker category to becoming entrepreneurs, a comprehensive policy is must to encourage the same”, Vaish said.

Vaish made these comments responding to the reports that the government is likely to come up with a new framework for startups.

The startups in the field of agriculture, health, education, Internet related business are likely to be top focus area for the government.

To promote start-ups, the government would provide Rs 15,000 honorarium every month to them for one year. The government would also provide an assistance of Rs 10 lakh to start-ups to market their products, according to news reports. (KNN/DA)
