BCCI organizes awareness program for MSMEs

Kolkata, June 9 (KNN) With an objective to make the MSME aware of the various types of service/facility available with banks pertaining to MSMEs manufacturing and services for their growth and development, the Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) organized an “Awareness Program for the MSMEs”.

Besides, the aim of the program is to highlight the available government schemes for the MSMEs, which would really help them in further development and growth of their business operations in the near future," stated Debkumar Basu, chairperson, manufacturing & MSME committee, the Bengal Chamber.

The program was organized with an intent to help the MSMEs to prepare them for the near future by sharing various services of the banks and available MSME schemes of the Central and state governments.

Apart from the above, the program was meant to help the MSMEs understand about MSME Finance and its linkages and how to get access to newer markets.

The target participants of the program were the MSMEs from different sectors and sub-sectors of manufacturing and services.

Speaking at the event, Sitanath Mukhopadhyay, assistant director, MSME Development Institutes, Kolkata, Min istry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, government of India, stated that the three aspects for MSMEs in West Bengal are agro-based industry, tourism-based industry and art-based industry.

He said, among the three, art-based industry has maximum potential because there is a huge market for art globally.

Further, he added that the new entrepreneurs intending to join MSMEs will get maximum scope in art-based industry and the government will extend all possible support to them.
