CICU holds workshop on low-cost automation for MSMEs

Ludhiana, June 11 (KNN) Low cost automation is important for MSMEs to bridge labor shortage gap, said Upkar Singh Ahuja, President of Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU).

He was speaking at the workshop on low cost automation organized by the CICU, Ludhiana, in which 100 participants from various industries like auto parts, sewing machine, hand tools, bicycle, truck manufacturer, machine tools and cutting tools participated.

Speaking at the event, Ahuja said, “Low-cost automation is very relevant as industry is reeling under labor shortage. It will be very beneficial for businessmen, especially those belonging to MSME (Micro Small and Medium Enterprises).”

Emphasizing on low cost automation, he said MSMEs find it difficult to invest in high-cost automation mediums like robots, CNC transfer machine and transfer tools.

Therefore, Ahuja said that the low cost automation is the most viable option for them to reduce manpower and control cost.

Also, during the event, an interactive session was conducted by Nitin Kumar, who has 15 years of experience in manufacturing and automotive companies.

In his presentation, he discussed about various modules like architecture of industrial automation system, how to identify opportunities for industrial automation and different sensors required for industrial automation.

General Secretary of the association Pankaj Sharma too presented his thoughts while vote of thanks was delivered by joint secretary S B Singh.

Representatives of various auto parts manufacturing groups attended the program.
