FISME calls upon MSMEs to explore opportunities in trending EV industry during Taiwan Expo 2018

New Delhi, May 14 (KNN) Giving a platform to the country’s Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs)to explore opportunities in the growing Electronic Vehicle industry, FISME – an apex body for MSME associations in India- has invited entrepreneurs to be take part at ‘India-Taiwan EV Industry Forum’ being organized by TAITRA.

The Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) is organizing Taiwan Expo 2018 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from May 17-19, 2018.

Approximately 130 multi sector companies from Taiwan are displaying their products & services in the expo.

During the expo, one of the forums would be “India – Taiwan EV Industry Forum” which will be held on Friday 18th May 2018 from 1400-1710hrs.

Keeping in view the future prospects of EV-Industry in India, the Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) has invited MSMEs from different sub-sectors of the huge automobile sector to explore business opportunities for them.

According to a recent study conducted by EY, Electric vehicle (EV) sales in India are expected to witness a double-digit growth till 2020, fuelled by government measures for the sector and reducing battery prices and more.

The government has set an ambitious target of having 100 per cent electric vehicles for public transport and 40 per cent electric for personal mobility by 2030.

The industry is also in the budding stage from manufacturing parts for Diesel and Petrol vehicles to preparing themselves for the trending EV-vehicle parts.

For manufacturers of electric vehicle components such as motor, drive, power train and controller, the government has proposed to provide special capital investment subsidy up to 25%.

Talking to KNN, Mukesh Kalra, Director, FISME, said the enthusiasm level is quite high amongst MSMEs to be a part of India-Taiwan EV-Forum.

The industry has realized that the future is EV so there are gearing up to set their foot into the market by interacting with Taiwanese companies, he said.

Kalra shared that lots of MSMEs are keen to participate in the forum. MSME like JS Auto from Kanpur and Autolite from Jaipur have already confirmed their participation.

Some of the Taiwanese companies to participate in the forum are - Adlee Powertronic Co., Ltd, Aeon Motor Co., Ltd, Cheng Chang Machine Electronic Co., Ltd. (Solpower), Fuho Technology Co., Ltd. (VACRON) etc. (KNN Bureau)
