Jammu Kashmir Govt assures MSMEs for the rollout of promised incentives for sector

New Delhi, Feb 19 (KNN) In a relief to the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of Jammu and Kashmir, the state government has assured the sector of fulfilling its promise and extending the promised incentives.


Federation of Industries, Jammu (FOIJ) in a press release informed of the recent meeting that took place between the representatives from the industry and the state government during which the government retreated its stance.

In a meeting of the Industrial  Advisory Committee chaired by the Hon’ble Chief Minister Ms. Mehbooba Mufti, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh, Hon’ble  Minister for Industries & Commerce Sh. Chander Parkash Ji, Hon’ble Finance Minister Dr. Haseeb Drabu alongwith Hon’ble Minister of State for Industries & Commerce Asiea Naqash.

Various issues pertaining to continuation of industrial incentives post-GST, purchase preference, payment of rent in respect of industrial units from security agencies etc. were discussed. Representatives of industry, Sh. Rattan Dogra, Chairman, Federation of Industries Jammu, Mr. Ashraf Mir, Chairman, Federation Chamber of Industries Kashmir, Sh. Lalit Mahajan, Co-chairman, Federation of Industries Jammu highlighted the problems faced by industry which needed immediate Govt. attention.

The Chief Minister directed for the constitution of high level committee to be chaired by the Chief Secretary to follow the cases of rent of industrial units due from police and security forces.

During the meeting, it was stressed that the fiscal incentives declared are inadequate for the survival of tiny, micro and small industries and the government must implement the assurances that all incentives prior to GST regime will be continued to maintain the competitive edge of industry.

It was pointed out that even the SROs issued for availing of incentives need modifications and clarifications.

Responding to the requests, The government assured that it will consider all demands and channels are open for discussion. (KNN/DA)
