Kalraj Mishra inaugurates Livelihood Business Incubation at Jamia under Aspire

New Delhi, Nov 15 (KNN) Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Kalraj Mishra today inaugurated the Livelihood Business Incubation (LBI) under the Aspire Scheme at Jamia Millia Islamia, a Central University.

In a tweet, the Minister said this is the first Livelihood Business Incubator in Delhi in partnership with the Academia.

After inaugurating the Incubator, Mishra interacted with the trainees. He was felicitated by Talat Ahmad Vice-Chancellor in Jamia Millia Islamia University.

A major initiative by the Ministry of MSME, Government of India - “A Scheme for Promotion of Innovation and Rural Entrepreneurship and agro industry(ASPIRE)” was set up with an aggregate corpus of Rs 200 crore for promoting innovation and rural entrepreneurship through rural livelihood business incubators, technology business incubators and fund of funds.

Under the Scheme, a fund of fund with a corpus of Rs 60 crore has been recently assigned to SIDBI for supporting various Venture Capital Funds registered with SEBI for investing in startups in the agro and rural space.

Meanwhile, Mishra also inaugurated the MSME Expo 2016 at Pragati Maidan today. Giriraj Singh, MoS MSME along with other Ministry officials were also present at the event. (KNN Bureau)
