MSME Minister Giriraj Singh inaugurates Khadi corner stall at GIP Mall

New Delhi, Jan 11 (KNN) The Minister of State (I/C) for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Giriraj Singh recently inaugurated the Khadi corner stall at the Great India Place (GIP) mall in Noida.

The newly inaugurated stall is to feature new range of Khadi products.  Also during the inauguration of the stall, the Minister launched the new product - muslin khadi dupatta at the khadi corner.

The Minister in his recent visit to Kerala inaugurated the COIR showroom at Thiruvanathapuram. Also the Minister chaired the 226th COIR board meeting during his visit.

Spelling the way ahead for COIR, the Minister said that the sector is looking at export target of Rs 20,000 crore coir exports by 2022.

Along with exports, the government is looking forward to expand the domestic market for coir and coir products to Rs 40,000 crore in the next four years, the Minister said.

Also the ministry has proposed a network of Common Facility Centres (CFCs) to give manufacturing facilities for over 10,000 small-scale manufacturers and workers. These centres are to produce products including geotextiles, coir panels, coir needle felt, coir pith and handicrafts.

Steps are being taken to strengthen the market base both in India as well as as abroad, the Minister said. (KNN/DA)
