MSMEs urge govt to shift Hindustan Petroleum LPG Bottling Plant from SIDCO Industrial Complex Bari Brahmana
Jammu, June 19 (KNN) The MSME entrepreneurs from Bari Bharmana Industries Association (BBIA) in Jammu have urged the state government to order shifting of Hindustan Petroleum LPG Bottling Plant in SIDCO Industrial Complex Bari Brahmana cautioning that any fire hazard in the plant will be dangerous for the entire area.
In this regard, BBIA conducted a meeting of its members to discuss over the matter. The meeting was chaired by BBIA President Lalit Mahajan.
“…a meeting of BBIA members was help to discuss the serious issue related to the working of Hindustan Petroleum LPG Bottling Plant in SIDCO Industrial Complex Bari Brahmana which is Fire Hazard and is also causing hurdles in the movement of traffic within the industrial complex,” Mahajan said.
While deliberating on the issue, members present in the meeting raised concerns with respect to safety of their units working adjoining to the Bottling Plant citing that in case of any incident due to leakage of LPG in the Plant or Tankers parked near the Unit, whole of the Industrial Complex shall turn into a Fireball leading to loss of human lives and finances.
The members also raised the issue of un-authorized parking of tankers and trucks outside bottling plant creating a traffic mess.
“Apart from the traffic jams that these trucks and tankers cause, we also fear that in case of any accident related to LPG tankers and trucks due to leakage of gas, a massive fire may break out in the Industrial Complex which will create havoc,” Mahajan said.
The MSMEs have requested the Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta, who is also J&K Industries Minister and RS Tara, District Development Commissioner, Samba to take up the matter immediately with the Hindustan Petroleum Corporation for the shifting of LPG Bottling plant as early as possible from the SIDCO Industrial Complex Bari Brahmana to some other suitable place.
