New Delhi, Mar 10 (KNN) Eyeing at promoting entrepreneurship among women, government’s think tank, NITI Aayog announced opening up of nominations for Women Transforming India Awards under the theme “Women and Entrepreneurship”.

 The nominations for the awards were opened during the launch of the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) at NITI Aayog.

NITI Aayog CEO, Amitabh Kant during the launch event said that women are to be brought to the centre of the development narrative considering the fact that there have been numerous path breaking initiatives that are led by women of the country. 

The Women Transforming India awards started off in 2016 with an aim to recognize exceptional women who are breaking new ground every single day and making a difference in the lives of countless others.

“After the tremendous success of the campaign with almost 300 million impressions on social media, it was the next logical step to link these incredible women this year to business opportunities”, an official release said.

The Women Transforming India Awards -2018 invites stories of exceptional women entrepreneurs, who are breaking the glass ceiling and challenging stereotypes through businesses, enterprises, and initiatives.

Broad categories under which the awards are invited include Innovative solutions to address key development challenges and/or initiatives that Impact communities.

Nominations can be filed on behalf of individuals or by the individual themselves on https://wep.gov.in latest by 30^th April 2018. (With PIB Inputs) (KNN/DA)
