TAITRA to act as a platform connecting MSMEs from India-Taiwan: CEO Walter Yeh (Watch Video)

New Delhi, Apr 18 (KNN) Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) through its newly inaugurated office in New Delhi and the upcoming Taiwan Expo 2018 aims to serve as a platform for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) of India and Taiwan, TAITRA CEO Walter M.S Yeh told KNN.

In an interview to KNN, Yeh further said that India and Taiwan have a strong SME sector and there is immense potential for the two countries to collaborate and progress.

Commenting upon India’s up rank in World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business list, Walter said that India is posing as an economy which is lucrative and the world is looking towards India.

The areas of collaboration between the two countries is to include green energy, electric vehicles and components, electronics, smart cities, health, lifestyle and culture.

The CEO mentioned that these areas are chalked carefully considering the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the government’s flagship schemes including Digital India, Smart Cities, Green India and Skill India.

Walter also spoke of tapping the potential available in India in terms of software.

“India is known for its expertise in software and Taiwan is known for its specialisation in hardware, the two can come together and make wonders”.

Walter made the remarks along the sidelines of a precursor event to the upcoming Taiwan Expo in May.

The expo is going to be the first edition of its kind in the country. Walter informed that TAITRA will be looking at organising similar expo more frequently in India.

Also an office was inaugurated in the National Capital later in the day making it the fourth office in the country. (KNN/DA)
