E-portal, Hunar Hubs across country, the way forward for craftsmen-artisans: Naqvi

New Delhi, Sept 25 (KNN) In order to boost trade opportunities for the craftsmen and artisans in the country, Hunar Hubs across the country and online sale portal is going to be the way forward for the sector, Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.

Naqvi made these comments during the inaugural event of the Hunar Haat event in Puducherry.

The Minister said here that the Ministry of Minority Affairs is working to establish “Hunar Hub” across the country to provide a platform to master artisans and craftsmen to display as well sell their products.

He further informed that the artisans and craftsmen will also be provided training according to the requirements of the current markets.

Commenting on the importance of going digital for selling their products, Naqvi informed that Ministry of Minority Affairs has prepared an E-Portal to provide national as well as international markers to artisans and craftsmen from across the country.

Also a data bank of artisans and craftsmen is underway in which thousands of artisans from various parts of the country have already been registered.

Key government officials including Puducherry Member of Parliament R. Radhakrishnan, National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation Chairman Shabaz Ali and officials from Puducherry Government and Minority Affairs Ministry were present during the inaugural event. (KNN/DA)
