Govt rolls out White Paper on Data Protection framework, calls for suggestions-feedback

New Delhi, Jan 20 (KNN) Eyeing at exploring the various dimensions of data protection framework in the country, the government announced rolling out White Paper to identify and recommend methods to address the concerns.

The White paper has been put out by a committee under the Chairmanship of Justice B.N. Srikrishna, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India comprising of members from Government, Academia and Industry. The committee in the paper has attempted to identify key data protection issues and recommend methods for addressing them.

For a consultative approach towards formation of policy, the government has sought feedback from the different stakeholders.

Suggestions and feedback can be submitted online on https://innovate.mygov.in/data-protection-in-india/ , latest by 31st January 2018.

Also the government has lined up consultation meeting for 23rd of January at the B.Nag Auditorium, Victor Menezes Convention Center (VMCC) Building in IIT Bombay campus, Powai.
