Niti Aayog receives 5000+ applications under Mentor India Campaign

New Delhi, Sept 20 (KNN) The government’s think tank NITI Aayog has received over 5000 applications for its Mentor India program of the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) wing, a press release from ASSOCHAM said.

Ramanathan Ramanan, Mission Director, Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), in a press interview said that the program has received an overwhelming response.

He further said that his department has set a target of achieving the number of at least 10,000-15,000 mentors considering the huge population size of the country.

Ramanan made these remarks during the National Conference on ‘Empowerment of SC, ST and women entrepreneurs’.

NITI Aayog is in the process of building a network of mentors across the country from every professional organization. It further aspires to be one of the largest mentoring networks across the country,” Ramanan added.

AIM is carrying out the program with a larger motive of building innovators for future in the country.

The AIM initiative was launched by the prime minister to promote innovation and entrepreneurship. The government has plans to set up 2,000 tinkering labs before the end of this year.

Commenting on the set target, Ramanan informed that before the end of this year, AIM is eyeing at over 75 Atal Incubators in this country. (KNN/DA)
