New Delhi, Oct 24 (KNN) Eyeing at facilitating the involvement of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the procurement by government offices and departments, the Federation of Indian Small and Medium Industries (FOSMI), West Bengal in association with the Eastern Railways will be organizing Vendor Meet program.

The Vendor meet program by the Eastern Railway is scheduled for the 1^st of November at Railway Officers Club, Belvedere Park, Belvedere Road in the Alipore region.

FOSMI in a press release informed that the main aim behind the program is to help the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises of the region get acquainted to the government procurement system.

Also the MSMEs will be able explore the opportunities of supplies to the Railway department through IREPS (Indian Railway E-Procurement System).

Earlier, the government in the procurement policy notified the mandatory clause for a minimum of 20 per cent of the total procurement to be done from the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises sector.

The event by the Eastern Railways is being seen instrumental in helping MSMEs come aboard the procurement chain. (KNN/DA)
