High-powered group of ministers to meet every two week to mend glitches in GSTN

New Delhi, Sept 18 (KNN) Responding to the crashing of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) portal for over two times in the first month of the return filing itself, the government has formed a high powered Group of Ministers (GoM) that will meet once every two weeks to look into the glitches of the portal.

The GoM recently had its first meeting in which over 25 lose ends of the portal were identified that had caused the crashing of the website.

The high powered group of ministers is led by the Bihar Deputy CM Sushil Modi, along with officials from the GST council and GSTN.

The group of ministers’ panel informed that the government is well aware of the concerns pertaining to the GSTN and it being the biggest such system in the world, things are likely to be better with a dedicated team in place.

Earlier, different taxpayers including Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) complained about the constant error messages they have been receiving while filing returns on the portal. (KNN/ DA)
