High tech RFID-FASTags the way forward for easy movement of goods: Nitin Gadkari

New Delhi, July 15 (KNN) The RFID technology based FASTags that enables the carriers to cross the toll gates instead of stopping each time and paying the toll has eased the movement of goods in the country, this technology will be extended to all the states in the coming time, Union Minister for  Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari said.

The Minister was speaking at INFOCOM2017, organized by ABP Group and Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) in New Delhi.

Gadkari said that e-tolling that was introduced by his Ministry last year has helped ease the movement of goods along roadways in the country. The trucks that have the FASTags do not have to stand in queues for paying the toll, the toll charge gets automatically through the tech based tag. This has helped ease congestion and buy time.
