Labour Minister Gangwar announces new ESI hospitals for Alwar - Bihta

New Delhi, Dec 8 (KNN) Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment (I/C), Santosh Kumar Gangwar recently announced two new Employees State Insurance (ESI) Hospitals, 50 bedded hospital for the district of Alwar in Rajasthan and a 100 bedded hospital for Bihta region of Bihar.

The Minister made these announcements during the 172nd Meeting of the ESI Corporation.

Highlighting the work of the corporation, the Minister said that the corporation is now present in over 46 districts of the country touching over 10 per cent of the country’s population.

Also during the meeting, the panel approved the proposal for utilizing the services of UG/PG Pass-outs from ESI Medical Colleges/ESI-PGIMSRs in ESI Hospitals/Dispensaries.

To meet the shortage of Specialist Doctors in ESI Hospitals/Dispensaries, ESIC has approved the policy for promotion of in-house PG qualified Insurance Medical Officers (IMOs) to the Cadre of Specialists, the Ministry informed in a press release.

Key officials from the ESIC and Labour Ministry including Sathiyavathy, Secretary, Labour & Employment, Raj Kumar, Director General, ESIC, and representatives of Employees and Employers of ESIC and other senior officials were present during the meeting. (With PIB inputs) (KNN/DA)
