MSME Minister - NITI Aayog visits Solar Charkha mission in Nawada

New Delhi, Mar 19 (KNN) In a bid to encourage the sector, Minister of State (I/C) for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Giriraj Singh and NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant recently visited solar charkha mission in Khanwa, Nawada in Bihar.

The Minister informed about the visit in a series of tweets from his official twitter handle.

Singh in a tweet said that NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant visited the centre to have a first hand experience of the Rural India transformation equipped with solar charkhas and amino acid manufacturing units.

“This model is helping boost the country’s rural economy, there is a need to pass on the model to every corner of the country”, the Minister said.

In another event along similar lines, Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) that comes under MSME Ministry, distributed over 50 Charkhas to Khadi artisans in Dehradun. The distribution event was in collaboration with ONGC.

KVIC Chairman V.K Saxena informed that ONGC as a part of their CSR helped distribute the charkhas.

“By the initiative, a new dimension in CSR actives to create sustainable employment has taken place”, he said. (KNN/DA)
