DIC-QCI holds awareness program on ZED in Jalandhar

New Delhi, Jan 19 (KNN) In an attempt to facilitate knowledge regarding Zero Defect Zero Effect scheme among the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the region, an awareness cum registration camp was organized by District Industries Centre (DIC) and Quality Council Of India in Jalandhar.

The aim of this scheme is to improve the quality of goods manufactured by MSME industry , without affecting environment and to make them more competitive in global market.

Speaking at the event, Mahesh Khanna, General Manager, DIC informed that the camp was organized to encourage industrialist to register themselves with the government under the ZED scheme.

He further said getting rated under the ZED scheme would help industrialists find the international buyers and have joint ventures avenues and only the fully compliant units could be in a position to get good rating and their products were more acceptable in semi-government and government sectors.

Quality council of India has planned to cover 26000 MSMEs in the next two years under Zero Defect Zero Effect (ZED) model, an earlier statement informed. (KNN/YV)
