Govt committed to support women entrepreneurs in every possible way: Punjab Chief Minister
New Delhi, Nov 24 (KNN) Punjab will roll out new industrial package to promote women entrepreneurship, said Capt. Amarinder Singh, Chief Minister, Punjab while inaugurating Road to Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) 2017 in Chandigarh today.
He said the state would come up with initiatives and policies to encourage women entrepreneurs and provide them every possible support. He added that GES will be a platform to connect with entrepreneurs, domain expertise and mentors from around the world.
The Chief Minister also unveiled the Draft Punjab Start-up and Entrepreneurship Development Policy 2017 during the event which aims to make Punjab a startup hub in the country and generate employment opportunities.
In her speech Monika Chowdhary, Chairperson, FICCI FLO Ludhiana listed some notable women entrepreneurs and their innovations.
She added that the startups led by women are doing great in the country and there are lot of opportunities for women entrepreneurs in Punjab.
Vinay Mathur, Deputy Secretary General, FICCI said that the women entrepreneurs had made their mark in fields like ecommerce, education, investment, travel, fashion, retail, fitness, hiring in the country. He also said that women need a supportive ecosystem, as it is much harder for women entrepreneurs than men. (KNN/AG)
