Govt promises to bring industry friendly measures in Puducherry

New Delhi, May 26 (KNN) Minister of Labor, Employment and Pollution Control Board M. Kandasamy has promised the industries in Puducherry region to extend complete support to them.

He told the members of CII that the government would extend its support to establishing more industries.

Stating that Puducherry had been facing financial crunch, he said that Puducherry needed more investments from the industries.

In his keynote address, Kadasamy said “we might not be able to resolve all the issues faced by the government. But, we will definitely look into the labour-related issues and others that can be resolved. We will extend complete support for the industries.”

The representatives of CII stressed that industries need a special police control number for direct access in case of any untoward incident within the premises and also requested police outposts and monitoring of frequent beat in industrial estates.

Sharing the wish list of the industry sector, speakers at the meeting said that the government should facilitate online submissions to pollution control board, profession tax and other departments where payments were still made off line which leads to delay.

Member speakers said for making online payments, we are asked to submit hard copies of the application for registration; this defeats the purpose of online transactions.

With the government not allotting any landfill, it has not been possible to dispose the sludge from the ETP, they said.
