New Delhi, Jan 19 (KNN) In a first, Industry body Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is to set up an office in Srinagar as part of its drive to expand its operations across the country in order to promote investment and industries.

Commenting over the latest development, FICCI Secretary General Dr. Sanjaya Baru said that the industry chamber’s J&K partnership initiative will focus on areas including tourism, food processing and skill development to begin with.

“The idea is to hand-hold the industry in doing business in Jammu and Kashmir”, Baru said.

The basic idea behind this initiative is to integrate Jammu and Kashmir economy with other states economy to build strong network.

“This move will give a bigger and better platform nationally to local business to share their challenges and concerns to boost and attract investment and opportunities both nationally and internationally”, FICCI said in a press release.

The initiative by FICCI is being eyed upon to promote business and investment environment in Jammu and Kashmir. (KNN/YV)
