MSMEs in Jammu reiterate concerns unde GST, writes to government

New Delhi, Nov 23 (KNN) The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Jammu have been demanding lately that the state and central government should review their demands and make necessary amendments in GST so as to ensure smooth operation of small scale industries in the area.

In a meeting of the Executive Committee and Advisory Committee of Association of Industries, entrepreneurs discussed Issues and problems related to GST and urged the Industries Association to approach central and state government with their demands.

The entrepreneurs stressed that state government’s   replacement  of 100% VAT remission on invoice  with the  25 percent remission on value addition will damage the competitiveness of  MSMEs(Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises)  in the state. During the meeting the entreprenurs also put forward their demands like remission of 100 percent SGST, reintroduction of Toll tax applicable for the imports and 100% refund of CGST portion.

Further entrepreneurs also discussed that the withdrawal of Central Fiscal Package to the MSMEs whose sales were below Rs. 1.5 Crore has also hampered their economic activities and they agreed that the government’s failure to resolve the issue of segregating the jurisdiction of the State / Central Govt. Departments / Agencies has resulted in the blockage of working capital of local MSMEs which may lead to their closure. (KNN/AG)
