Chennai, Feb 19 (KNN) The Tamil Nadu government is all set to come up with a start-up policy after the MSME policy is released.

The Entrepreneur Development and Innovation Institute (EDII) has sought suggestions from stakeholders from the industry to give their inputs for the draft policy.

According to a media report, EDII has hold discussion with Southern India Engineering Manufacturers’ Association and Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA) and sought their inputs.

EDII is planning to hold similar meetings in Chennai and Madurai very soon.

The discussions focussed on terms of investment, infrastructure, education, networking and so on. The policy is expected to cover start-ups in technology, manufacturing and in the services space.

There are around 600 beneficiaries for NEEDS (New Entrepreneur-cum-Enterprise Development Scheme). The officials indicated that the plan is to make TN an innovation hub and ensure that the start-ups here do not migrate to other States.
