Andhra govt to establish hazard analysis laboratory for MSMEs in Vishakhapatnam
New Delhi, July 21 (KNN) Aiming at reducing the risk of causalities that happen in the manufacturing units, the Andhra Pradesh government has announced setting up of a research facility for hazard analysis for the Pharma Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Vishakhapatnam.
Minister for Labour, Employment and Factories Pithani Satyanarayana made the announcement.
Also the government announced mandatory safety audits for all industries every six months. The audit will be facilitated by third parties.
The announcement comes as a response to the rising number of accidents happening at the Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City, HCPL and other industrial units in the region
The Minister also announced setting up of a skill development institute. This institute will focus on facilitating innovation to hundreds of pharmaceutical units in the regions including Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, and Vizianagaram.
The Minister made these announcements during a press meet at the “Chemical Safety and Disaster Mitigation” conference. (KNN/ DA)
