Come and make in Northeast, expect handholding- financial support: MoS DONER

New Delhi, Sept 18 (KNN) In a bid to attract the entrepreneurs from all over the country, the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Dr Jitendra Singh made fresh appeal to come and make in the north eastern region of the country.

Singh informed that his office is committed towards enabling a startup ecosystem for the aspiring entrepreneurs to set up their business ideas in the different regions of the north east. For which the DoNER has set up a venture fund facility.

The Minister informed that under the venture fund scheme, anybody who wishes to Startup in the Northeast region, which would provide a huge financial relief particularly to young entrepreneurs.

Highlighting the success of the scheme in the region, Singh said that the venture fund facility has already taken off with zeal and enthusiasm and the office has received over 65 proposals.

Singh further said that the startups can expect support from his office both in terms of handholding as well as for financial backup.

The Minister was speaking at the inaugural session of “ARUNODOI”, the two-day Northeast Students & Youth Summit 2017.

The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) is a Government of India ministry, functioning as the nodal Department of the Central Government to deal with matters related to the socio-economic development of the eight States of Northeast India including Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Sikkim.
