Delhi Budget: Incentives to industries of up to Rs 1 lakh to switchover to Piped Natural Gas

New Delhi, Mar 23 (KNN) The focus of the Delhi Government, in its Budget, was measures to control pollution and monitor its impact on the environment.

Unveiling the budget on Thursday, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said, “We are going to thread 26 programmes and schemes of transport, power, environment and PWD for devising a unified system of pollution control, bringing down levels of different pollutants.”

Sisodia said, “Apart from undertaking greening activities across Delhi, our Government has prepared several new incentive schemes to combat pollution in this year’s Green Budget.”

He said the Government will offer an incentive to industries in approved industrial areas of up to Rs 1 lakh to switchover to Piped Natural Gas from existing polluting fuels.

Similarly, a subsidy of up to Rs 5000 per tandoor will be offered to restaurants to replace Coal tandoors with Electricity or Gas-based Tandoors.

“We will also offer a subsidy to various firms and establishments of up to Rs 30,000 to switch over from Diesel Generator Sets of 10KVA or more capacity to Clean Fuel based Electricity Generator Sets,” said Sisodia.

Apart from this, the other highlights from the budget are -

 

  •          Rs 100 crore allocated for free WiFi scheme
  •          Rs 1500 crore allocated for infrastructure development of unauthorised colonies
  •          Internal sewer line installation in 162 colonies to be completed by 2020 to 13 lakh residents
  •          Rs 1,833 crore allocated for welfare schemes for poor and marginalized
  •          Rs 53 crore allocated for Mukhyamantri Teerth Yatra
  •          Rs 15 crore to be allocated to establish Mobile Van Clinics
  •          SMCs to get a fund of Rs 5 lakh for expenses on books, teaching innovation and small maintenance works
  •          Road safety policy draft to be released soon and Road safety fund to be created soon
  •          Pilot project to install solar panels over 16 km length of cycle tracks
  •          Replace all the street lights with energy efficient LED lights under ESCO model
  •          Edge-to-edge paving and landscaping of PWD roads
  •          Enforce Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) for all new and large commercial buildings
  •          Building Energy Efficienecy Programme(BEEP) for government buildings
  •          Agriculture cum Solar Farm scheme to incentivise the installation of solar panels on agricultural farms
  •          Group Net Metering to enable solar power generation in govt
  •          Generation Based Incentive (GBI) for 3 years under existing and future net metered connections
  •          Purchase of 100 MW of Green Power through Solar and Wind- based generation
  •          50 percent concession in registration charges for CNG factory fitted private cars
  •          Comprehensive Electric Vehicle Policy for Delhi
  •          13% of total budget will be allocated to the three MCD's
