New Delhi, July 25 (KNN) In a bid to boost the industry in the state, the government of Himachal Pradesh has proposed setting up of industrial clusters, also reforms for obtaining licences are to be introduced soon, Mukesh Agnihotri, Minister of Industries, labour and Employment of Himachal Pradesh recently announced.

The Minister informed that the state is looking forward to follow the cluster based approach for the industry in the state. Five industrial clusters with focus areas including food processing and pharma will be established.

He further informed that within a month, the government will be launching online portal through with the entrepreneurs can obtain clearances and approvals.  Also the government will be announcing a new policy aimed at reviving sick industrial units in the state.

Highlighting the importance of the MSME sector, the Minister said that these units form the backbone of the industry and also generate employment for the locals of the region.

Commenting upon the demand of area based exemption under the newly implemented Goods and Services Tax (GST) Agnihotri said that the government is exploring the possibilities of the same with the GST council and the central government. (KNN/ DA)
