Jammu MSME delegation meets Suresh Prabhu to seek solution for long pending issues
Jammu, May 17 (KNN) The MSME entrepreneurs from Jammu region have been time and again raising issues of non-release of funds under the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP) Central Package of Incentives for J&K, pending cases with Empowerment Committee for approval and more.
In this regard, a delegation of Federation of Industries Jammu led by its Chairman Lalit Mahajan met Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Suresh Prabhu in New Delhi.
During the course of discussions, Mahajan raised the issues in respect of Non Release of Funds for the Pending Claims of DIPP Central Package of Incentives, J&K and pending cases with Empowerment Committee for approval, one time relaxation of condition for the submission of claims under DIPP Package of Incentives, appointment of Managing Director in Jammu & Kashmir Development Finance Corporation by DIPP, Extension of Income Tax Reimbursement, Central Government GST and Freight Subsidy Incentives to J&K Industrial Sector at par with the North Eastern States.
The entrepreneurs said that incentives at par with north eastern states will open the doors for new investment in the state and help create employment opportunities for the local youths.
The FOIJ delegation also pressed for compulsory purchase by Central Government Organizations from J&K Industry and suggested setting up of Mother Industry to boost the local industrialization.
The delegation sought reduction in export obligation for units in the State of Jammu & Kashmir in Foreign Trade Policy and under EPGC Scheme.
Mahajan said the Minister gave a patient hearing to the issues raised by FOIJ and assured the delegation that the matter shall be resolved on priority basis. (KNN Bureau)
