KASSIA submits Budget Memorandum for MSMEs to K’taka CM

Bengaluru, Feb 17 (KNN) Bengaluru MSMEs today submitted their Budget Memorandum to state chief minister S Siddaramaiah for consideration.

Karnataka State Small Industries Association (KASSIA) in its Budget Memorandum sought for policy of Lease-cum-Sale for industrial land to be reinstated.

KASSIA said Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) require a separate directorate and there should be some special grants.

“In view of the good work being done by KASSIA for the Micro and Small Enterprises, we request  that the State may provide us a special grant to KASSIA of  Rs. 5 crores annually,” it said.

The industry body suggested that an allocation of Rs.10 crores should be made for Industrial Township in the budget.

“In order to decongest Bangalore and other major cities and disperse industries to the rural areas, we suggest that the State create micro industrial zones in Taluks and other semi urban pockets by providing all the necessary infrastructure to enable the entrepreneurs to set up micro enterprises.  It is necessary to allot plots on concessional price in such estates to enable micro and small enterprises to be able to afford them,” said KASSIA.

Other demands made by the industry body include:

  • Government may build low costing sheds under Rs.2 lakhs and allot them  on sale to entrepreneurs.  The Government may also guarantee bank loans for these entrepreneurs at concessional rate of interest of 4%.
  • Concessional rate of interest for lady entrepreneurs
