Rawat & BJP had confrontational issues; with same party at Centre & State U’khand MSMEs see development on cards

Dehradun, Mar 11 (KNN) With BJP all set for a historic win in Uttarakhand, the MSME sector in the state hope that the PM Modi will now fulfill his electoral promises made during campaigns and boost infrastructure in the state.

BJP national president Amit Shah had said that the CM would be selected from the newly elected legislators. The front-runners are Satpal Maharaj, Trivendra Singh Rawat, Ajay Bhatt and Prakash Pant. All of them are leading from their respective assembly seats.

Talking to KNN, Pankaj Gupta, President, Uttarakhand Industries Association (UIA), said with the same party in power both at state and centre, there is no room for any excuses now.

“The industry is looking for a positive development in the state with BJP winning the elections here as the same party at state and centre will give a boost to the state,” Gupta said.

He said Mr Rawat’s government in the state and BJP Government in the centre always had some confrontational issue.

He said MSMEs are hopeful that PM Modi will keep his promises made during campaign to develop infrastructure, rail lines, and industry in the state.

The sectors, which are likely to get a boost infrastructure in a big way, Power, Tourism and railways works which have been planned here will be speeded up.

He said entrepreneurship development programmes and skill development programmes will get a boost here which will benefit the MSME sector.

Gupta said some big industries might also come to the state and invest as there would be more improvement in the ease of doing business here.

UIA said tourism is one of the sectors which will get a substantial benefit.

Meanwhile, Harish Rawat has lost in Haridwar (rural) seat. He had won here in the Lok Sabha elections 2009. He had become the first state CM to have contested from two assembly constituencies in Uttarakhand. (KNN Bureau)
