Road shows for Dholera industrial city, PM Modi’s dream project, begins

Bangalore, July 24 (KNN) Dholera Industrial City in Gujarat, the dream project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has begun as the Dholera Industrial City Development Ltd (DICDL) is organizing a roadshow in Bengaluru on August 2.

DIC Development Ltd along with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) as knowledge partner has sought interaction with the investors from various areas to showcase the opportunities available in the smart city.

Dholera is strategically located in Gujarat. It is the largest node on the DMIC and has excellent connectivity by air, land, rail & sea. It is just 100 km from Ahmedabad and is well connected to other major cities in Gujarat including Vadodara, Bhavnagar and Rajkot.

Dholera is touted as the first smart city of India that is being envisioned as a global manufacturing and trading hub owing to its proximity to the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor.

The region is being looked at as an engine for the economic resurgence of India.

DICDL has been created between the Central Government (DMICDC Trust) and the State Government (DSIRDA) of Gujarat to implement the project.

For the roadshow, a senior Gujarat State Government delegation will be visiting Bangalore on Thursday, 02 August 2018, to meet and discuss potential business opportunities at Dholera Industrial City, with the Industry Captains in Bangalore.

The key speakers for the roadshow will be - Alkesh Kumar Sharma, CEO & MD – DMICDC; Mamta Verma, Industries Commissioner, GoG; Jai Prakash Shivahare, Managing Director, Dholera Industrial City etc.

 Dholera Industrial City has a state-of-the-art, smart and sustainable infrastructure facilities where all underground utilities like gas, power, potable water, recycled water, sewage pipes and storm water are pre-planned for wholesome development, with capability of handling the growing demands of the city.

Right from the start, it has been envisaged to have a ‘Plug & Play’ approach wherein all the land parcels are fully ICT enabled and completely built up infrastructure is offered right at plot level.

Stating that PM Modi’s dream is going to be fulfilled DSIR, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani had said few months back that Dholera will be showcased as an investment destination to the world community during the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Summit in January next year.

He added that Dholera will be Gujarat’s “most smart city” that will be “bigger in size than Singapore” with world-class facilities, including a water transport system alike Venice. (KNN Bureau)
