15th Finance Commission holds interactive session with Member of Parliament

Newly formed Fifteenth Finance Commission which was constituted in November 2017 held its preliminary interactive session today at Constitution Club.

In the interactive session of 15th Finance Commission with the Members of Parliament, Rabindra Kumar Jena ( MoP, Lok Sabha) informed that it was a brief preliminary session, where N.K Singh, Chairman of the Fifteenth Finance Commission along with the Members of Parliament both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were present in the meeting.

He said “we have discussed various issues that 15th Finance Commission should consider like how the money should be devolved and taxes should be collected and many more issues related to that.”

D. Raja Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from Tamil Nadu said “members made some suggestions on which the Finance Commission will have to focus.”

Calling it a first interactive session, he mentioned that Commission is expected to visit states and consult not only state government officials but also local bodies and MPs and political parties of each state.
