The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) led by Giriraj Singh, MoS (I/C) MSME, launched the Public Procurement Portal ‘MSME Sambandh’ in the national capital on Friday.

The main objective of the portal is to monitor the implementation of the Public Procurement from MSEs by Central Public Sector Enterprises, the Minister informed addressing media during the launch event.

Singh further said that despite the contribution of the MSME sector in the country, it is not given appropriate attention and importance.

Highlighting the significance of the sector, Singh informed that over 80 per cent of jobs in industry is given by MSME with just 20 per cent of investment.

The Minister urged the different stakeholders to take advantage of the newly launched portal.

With a dedicated portal in place, different flagship projects and ambitions of the government including Make in India, Ease of doing business etc. can be turned into a reality.

Dr. A.K. Panda, Secretary, MSME who was also present during the event informed that the Micro and Small Enterprises would be able to access the information about the products being procured by CPSEs.

The portal will enable the MSEs understand and be a part of the procurement process, Panda added. (KNN/DA)
