More SMEs tapping capital market to raise funds; BSE SME has 255 & NSE Emerge has 165 listed firms

Mumbai, July 30 (KNN) It seems more and more small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are opting to raise money through IPOs by registering themselves with Stock Exchanges. BSE SME, Bombay Stock Exchange’s platform for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) has 255 companies listed with many more in the pipeline.

Today, equity shares of Kolkata based Supershakti Metaliks Limited got listed with the BSE SME while that of Ganesh Films India Limited and Supershakti Metaliks Limited are yet to be listed. With this the total number of companies listed with the platform has reached 255.

Out of 255 companies, as many as 51 companies have migrated to the main board BSE and two companies have been suspended.

The total amount of money raised so far through the platform is Rs 2,406.14 crore.

Meanwhile, National Stock Exchange’s (NSE’s) platform for SMEs – Emerge – has 165 companies listed.

Last week, Uttar Pradesh Government had signed Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) with NSE and BSE for building the capacity of the state MSME sector to raise funds from the markets and list on stock exchanges.

Under the MoU, the premier stock exchanges would handhold the MSMEs through a series of workshops, roadshows and consultancy to create awareness about the various opportunities in the domestic capital markets to mop of funds for expanding businesses, SME exchange guidelines, listing processes, compliances with listing agreement etc. (KNN Bureau)
