SIDBI conferred with BML Munjal Award in the Public Sector category

New Delhi, Aug 26 (KNN) The Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), which provides finances to country’s millions of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), has been conferred the BML Munjal Award for Business Excellence through Learning and Development in the Public Sector category.

The award recognizes SIDBI’s Vision 2.0 being a differentiator in the learning and development ecosystem. SIDBI Vision 2.0 focuses on inclusive, market-maker and impact-oriented engagements with a thrust on unserved and underserved segments.

Mohammad Mustafa, Chairman and Managing Director of SIDBI said, “We are carrying out multi-fold initiatives for the development of Micro and Small Enterprises sector under SIDBI Vision 2.0. The fourteenth BML Munjal Award under the Public Sector category conferred on us validates the change maker initiatives for strengthening the ecosystem. It bestows more responsibility on us to continue path breaking steps in learning and development. It is indeed a proud moment for us.”

The award has been named after the Hero Group Chairman and Padma Bhushan Awardee Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal, who attributes the Group's success to a continuous focus on training and learning and development resulting in business excellence.

Entries were invited under five categories namely, Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), Private Sector (Manufacturing), Private Sector (Services), Sustained Excellence (for earlier awardees only) and Emerging Stars (for privately held companies in emerging sectors like e-commerce/m-commerce).

Several entries were received in the PSU category including names likes GAIL (India) Limited, Bharat Electronics Limited, RailTel Corporation of India Limited,Anchor Shipping Corporation of India Limited, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited and so on.

After a rigorous competition with most of the leading and well-known organizations who had sent their entries this year, the award was conferred to SIDBI and was presented by Pranab Mukherjee, former President of India.
