Consultants to huddle on 26th Feb to augment their contribution to Atmanirbhar Bharat

New Delhi, Feb 24 (KNN) Consulting Engineers Association of India (CEAI), the apex body of consultant engineers in the country is organising a webinar on "Contribution of consultants for fast tracking Atmanirbhar Bharat'' on February 26, 2021 as part of its Diamond jubilee celebrations.

The webinar will be inaugurated by Dr Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, Chairman, National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) will be focussing on nurturing the local manufacturing and construction ecosystem involved in producing efficient and cost-effective substitutes for the domestic and the global market.

“Consulting engineers have been contributing for almost all key engineering and technological developments in the country for decades and were fully committed to achieving self –reliance for the domestic industry and reduce dependence on imported products in the infrastructure sector to support the strong and feasible ‘Make in India’ ecosystem” said Dr Ajay Pradhan, President, Consulting Engineers Association of India (CEAI).

“CEAI firmly stands with the policy of manufacturing best-in-class products locally through ‘Make in India’ and  drastically reducing country’s  dependency on imported products, including those from China, by putting processes and systems in place to develop a large scale, efficient and cost-effective domestic industrial ecosystem over a medium to long term. The atmosphere is right for that and we should accelerate this. We are fully supportive of the government of India’s initiatives and will do our best to contribute to Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan”.’ Said K K Kapila, Chairman, Diamond Jubilee Celebrations Committee, CEAI.

Kapila further said that consulting engineers have been in forefront of construction of key national buildings, monuments and factories, construction of transportation and smart urban infrastructure, supporting defence forces by providing cutting-edge products and supplying critical components for Indian space programme.

''We will work more for use of locally-produced materials for construction and related activities,'' he added.

The highlight of the webinar will be a technical session to be moderated by Dr. Harshavardhan Subbarao, Chairman, Construma, and Consultancy
