Bhubaneswar, Oct 3 (KNN) The NABARD regional office in Odisha on Sunday launched a 3 month-long exhibition “Stall-in-Mall” at Esplanade Mall in Rasulgarh, Bhubaneswar.

The primary aim of this exhibition is to provide artisan and weavers an opportunity to showcase their products in a commercial mall and also reap the benefits of better sales directly and through orders. It aims to promote direct marketing opportunities amongst traditional craftsmen and weavers.

Artisans and weavers from Odisha and other parts of the country are participating in this 3 month-long mall exhibition.

Handlooms and Handicrafts occupy a major share in supporting a large number of livelihoods in the rural economy. To upkeep the tradition, integrate the weavers and artisans, and provide training, design development, credit, etc, NABARD has been supporting for setting up of Off-Farm Producer Organisations (OFPOs) across the country.

NABARD, as a Development Bank, is mandated for providing and regulating credit and other facilities for the promotion and development of agriculture, small scale industries, cottage and village industries, handicrafts and other rural crafts and other allied economic activities in rural areas.  (KNN Bureau)
